Overview

Selous game reserve is a lesser-known reserve, yet gorgeous. It’s a pristine natural area with unprecedented safari possibilities. The many rivers and lakes invite you for beautiful boat safaris. The reserve is spacious, you can discover different areas every day; on foot and by jeep.

Selous is in its peak season from July through to the middle of November – this is when the dry season is raging and all the game homes in on the few permanent water sources. Selous is also one of the few national parks where you can go on a walking safari with an armed ranger. If you prefer this, we can arrange it for you. But also in the vehicle, you can enjoy the landscape to the fullest and spot many animals!

This private safari will offer you a combination of safari and Zanzibar beach after the safari relaxation in the jewel of Indian Ocean beach with your barefoot on a white powdery, you will be accommodated in a beautiful beach hotel that offers amazing sea view.

Itinerary

Tailored Adventures for Every Explorer

Day 1: Zanzibar

Upon arrival at Zanzibar Internationally airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Serena Hotel overnight. Spend the day at leisure

Day 2: Zanzibar – Selous Game Reserve

After early breakfast, you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport for a morning flight to the Selous game reserve flying from Zanzibar to Selous Mtemere at 08:00 am with a 15 min. stop over Dar es Salaam. Landing at Mtemere airstrip around 09:30 am. Pick up at Selous airstrip by our Safari vehicles for a 6 hours game drive lunch will be served during the game drive with a lunch box. Later drive to Mivumo river lodge/Rufiji River Lodge for Dinner and overnight.

Day 3& 4: Selous Game Reserve

Full days to explore the wilderness of Selous. It is a lot quieter here than in the other parks, so you can enjoy a unique and undisturbed safari experience! The Rufiji, which ends in the Indian Ocean, crosses the entire reserve. Around this river, there is a swampy area that crocodiles love. The Stiegler Gorge is a special attraction here. This is a gorge 100 meters deep and 100 meters wide.

Day 5: Selous Game Reserve – Zanzibar

After enjoying the last breakfast at Selous, you will do an en-route morning game drive to the airstrip for a scheduled flight to Zanzibar. You’ll be picked up from your Zanzibar Airport with a transfer to the beautiful Hotel Nungwi Dreams, which offers its guests well-appointed rooms specially designed for optimum views of the sea nestled amidst tropical gardens and white powdery beaches. Day 6, 7 & 8: Zanzibar

Free time and relaxation, experience the sun on your skin and the golden sands of Zanzibar beneath your feet, the ancient in the cultural city of Zanzibar, sip cocktails on Zanzibar’s golden. Overnight at Nungwi Dream Hotel/The Resident

Day 9: Depart

Breakfast at the Hotel. Later on, drop off at Zanzibar Airport for your onward flight back home.
